How to Get Here

The unique quality and flavour of Creemore Springs Premium Lager begins by selecting the finest possible ingredients. It all starts with the source of pure spring water that our beer is named after. The spring is located in a bedrock of limestone cooled and shaded by a hardwood forest just outside the town of Creemore. Only three other natural ingredients go into our great beer: malted barley, select hops and yeast. Malted barley is a high grade of barley that has been germinated and dried. This modifies the starch for the brewing process. Our selected Saaz hops from the Czech Republic are a ‘spicy’ bud that imparts just the right characteristic bitterness and aroma.

The brewing process begins by milling the dry barley kernels and combining them with hot spring water. This combination changes the starch in the barley kernel into a sweet solution called wort. This malty sweet liquid is separated from the remaining solids and boiled over direct fire in the big copper kettle you can see in the window of our brewhouse. During the boil, hops are added to provide the perfect balance and structure for a quaffable beer.

After the boil the amber liquid is cooled and transferred to one of 30 fermenting vessels where the yeast is added. It takes the yeast a full week to convert the sugars in the wort to CO 2 and alcohol. Then the beer is cold aged for another 14 days prior to being filtered, packaged and delivered fresh!
